I love the smells associated with fall, the colors of fall, the cool crisp air of fall, the styles of fall, the joy of people coming together for the seasons, I love it all!!
I realize however that during this season as the holidays approach, many people find themselves in state of depression and grief as they remember the lost of love ones and the times they once shared. I want to encourage you today that no matter what season of life you are in right now, God is faithful and true and he cares about YOU. I pose to you this question as the Lord did in Genesis 18:14....
When things seem impossible, we as believers have someone to stand on, someone to lean on and that's God and his word. This is how the JOY of the Lord is our strength! You may have experienced a lost of a loved one and the memories of them are all so real during the holiday season, but please know this, God is healer. Not just healer of disease, but healer of ALL, including your broken heart. As we open our broken hearts to the father, He is able to heal.
Be encouraged today precious mom, cherish the memories of laughter and love from those who are no longer here and walk in peace. Choose to walk in the peace of God and smile remembering the good times and memories you've shared together. Don't allow depression to overtake you this holiday season. Choose rather to enjoy those that are still here, enjoy your children and families. Create lasting memories that will last a lifetime with those you love.
The bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18
" In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"
So, while you may not be able to rejoice about EVERYTHING you have experienced or are experiencing, we are encouraged of the Lord to yet GIVE THANKS while we are yet IN those experiences. God is still worthy of all praise, and we have this confidence in him that all things work together for our good because we love him.
